I did sow discord in Castille to try to take some counties, so they were fighting down a rebellion. Other info that might help: The much larger (than Leon) Kingdoms of Castille, Sicily and Sardinia, and Holy Roman Empire all ended their concurrent Holy Wars, though I'm not sure why. Is that part of the problem? He is part of a faction that wants to install my brother on the throne instead of my heir. My steward just left me to create a duchy. There were rebellions in nearby Muslim kingdoms that other Christian kingdoms were also fighting in a Holy War.
I've restarted and tried again from an earlier save point and the same thing happens. As I'm sieging the king/sheikh of the land i'm trying to conquer the casus belli become no longer valid and I don't know why. I just put hours into starting and almost ending a Holy War that I'm 84% into winning.
I m very new to crusader kings and am playing my first run after wanting to play for over 3 years.
